A Missouri youngster wandered away from his family while on a hike in the Mark Twain National Forest. Little Joshua was lost for over 2 days in the wet & cold weather. Dr’s were puzzled as to how this young boy could survice for 52 hours. Turns out the family’s Great Pyrenesse dog was with the boy & kept him warm during the ordeal.

Brittney, the beloved 9-year-old American bulldog gave the last of her life to save her owner, Scott Seymore. There was a fire & she barked to awaken Scott. Both got out safely but sadly Brittney’s story doesn’t have a happy ending. Just 2 weeks before, Scott found out Brittney had cancer. Instead of putting her down, he kept her on medication to hopefully extend their time together. But after the fire she was so depressed that he finally had her put to sleep.
Gibson, the Guinness Book of World Records-certified world’s tallest dog, has lost a leg to bone cancer. The Great Dane recently underwent surgery to amputate his right front leg. Veterinarians say dogs can recover from removal of a leg and can adapt to the loss of a limb.
The seven-foot-plus pooch has appearanced on TV shows including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Owner Sandy Hall said she’s looking forward to continuing Gibson’s work as a certified therapy dog visiting burn units, Alzheimer’s care facilities and hospitals for children and the disabled.
The story of Hoagie the hero dog who saved his owners from a mountain lion attack in the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County, California last week is a “tall tale” according to wildlife specialists. Hoagie is now being blamed for the attack! Wildlife specialists say Hoagie more than likely started the fight, probably by chasing the big cat. And the cat turned on Hoagie & attacked him. Because of that theory, they will not search for & destroy the mountain lion.
Hoagie, a 5 year old rescue dog (from an abused animal shelter) & owners were hiking in California’s Cleveland National Forest when they were confronted by a mountain lion. Hoagie jumped in front of his owner & the mountain lion attacked him. Hoagie’s owner managed to scare off the beast. Even though Hoagie was mauled pretty severely, he is expected to make a full recovery.
The hero dog who saved his buddy after it was hit by a car has still not been found. The dog that was hit unfortunately did die. The highway surveillance video was actually taken in Santiago, Chile on March 23, but there was confusion based on the time stamp on the video.
Thousands of people contacted their local TV news station or the national news station when they saw the video hoping to adopt the hero dog.

In Melbourne, Australia a dog named Leo nearly risked his life to save a box of newborn kittens from a house fire. The family of 4 managed to get out with Leo, but the box of kittens were left inside. Leo rushed back in to stand over the kittens. He paid the price for that act of bravery & succumbed to smoke inhalation. Luckily the firemen revived Leo & the kitten were saved too.
In Scottsdale, Arizona, Buddy the German Shepherd service dog saved his owner by calling 911. Buddy’s owner had a seizure & Buddy dialed the phone with his teeth…as he had been trained to do. Buddy can be heard whimpering on the 911 recording.
This isn’t the first time Buddy has called 911. He’s made about 4 previous calls. Buddy’s owner says not only is Buddy his guardian, but he’s his best friend too.
