Local residents in West Yorkshire (in the UK) had been complaining to the authorities that every morning they were seeing fresh dog poop. They blamed irresponsible dog owners for not cleaning up after their pooches. So the authorities installed a surveillance camera to catch the culprit.
Imagine everyone’s surprise when what they saw on camera was a man with his pants down taking a …well you know.
It seems this man makes this a regular nightly routine – instead of going to the loo before he gets in his car, or bothering to find a public restroom.
It was just assumed it was a dog. The matter is now being investigated by the police.

A Labrador-German shorthair mix was visiting her owners Grandmother. The dog got into Grandma’s purse and ate $1,500! The money was strewn all over the house. Grandma washed the money and grabbed the pieces and managed to get $1,300 when she turned in the shredded bills at the bank.

The Seattle dog that was put on the voter rolls as a form of protest by its owner has finally been taken off…after three elections! The 66 year old owner was protesting a change in the law that she said made it too easy for non-citizens to cast ballots.
Even though she wrote “VOID” across Duncan’s ballot and returned it with an image of a paw print on the signature line, the dog was still sent absentee ballots.
The removal came three weeks after the owner was charged in King County Superior Court with making a false or misleading statement to a public servant, which is a misdemeanor.

Joshua Winston, the West Sun City, Arizona veterinarian who punched Bella the Chihuahua in the head for being uncooperative and damaged the dogs eye was issued a criminal indictment by the grand jury for his act.
On June 4 he inflicted the damage and was arrested one week later. The bad thing about it was that it seems he tried to cover up the fact that he dislodged the dogs eye. But two veterinary technicians witnessed the abuse. When he couldn’t repair the eye, he sewed it shut. And Bella had to have corrective surgery after the incident.

Nearly 200 judges from both U.S. and Canadian Kennel Clubs rated the intelligence of certain dog breeds based on how they mastered learning a new command. It took 80 repetitions (or more) for these breeds. If your dog is on the list, don’t fret…they’re still lovable. Besides, your dog is always the smartest – no matter what anybody says:
1. Afghan Hound
2. Basenji
3. Bulldog
4. Chow Chow
5. Bloodhound
6. Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound)
7. Pekingese
8. Beagle
9. Mastiff
10. Basset Hound

“Chain Off 2007″ is a national protest over chaining dogs for long periods of time. The event involved nearly 100 people in 32 states. Protesters chained themselves to doghouses or in yards.
On Saturday a South Bend, IN college student wore a dog collar and chained herself to her family’s front porch from 9a – 9p in protest. She did it to raise money – which she’ll donate to Dogs Deserve Better, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit that campaigns against chaining or penning dogs for long periods of time.

An empty can of dog food dug out of Paris Hilton’s trash sold for $305 in an eBay auction after a fake $1.5 million dollar bid was dropped.
The dog food can was sold by HollywoodStarTrash.com (the celebrity trash can scavengers), which has also listed several other Hilton items for sale on eBay – all were taken out of her garbage can.
Other Hilton items sold by the company included a used toothbrush for $305; two large padded envelopes sent to Paris in jail for $510; and an empty Coca-Cola can for $51. The only thing you can be sure Paris owned were the envelopes…the toothbrush and Coke can could’ve been anybody’s.

Well, it just goes to show. Whoever was bidding up the empty can of dog food that was dug out of Paris Hilton’s trash has either dropped out or (my guess) was never a serious bidder in the first place. The bid on eBay is now at a more “reasonable” $300 – with about 12 hours left in the auction. You still have time to get in on it!

SEATTLE (AP) – Duncan the dog is still registered to vote, and his owner isn’t pleased. Jane Balogh signed up the dog in protest of a 2005 state voter-registration law she thinks makes it too easy for noncitizens to vote. She used a paw print to mark ballots on Duncan’s behalf.
At first, Balogh said she wouldn’t contest a misdemeanor charge of making false statements on a voter registration form. But on Thursday, she pleaded not guilty to the charge that is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
She said she changed her mind when election officials claimed her efforts showed the system worked.
“She’s just kind of annoyed because Duncan’s still on the voting rolls,” said her lawyer, Kristen Anderson. “Somebody is clearly not getting the message.”
Laura Lockard, King County’s acting election program manager for voter services, said there is “an arduous process” to have someone, even if it’s a dog, taken off the voter rolls.
Balogh put her phone bill in the Australian shepherd-terrier mix’s full name – Duncan MacDonald – then used it as identification to register him as a voter. She submitted ballots in the dog’s name in the September and November 2006 and May 2007 elections. She wrote “VOID” on the ballots and didn’t cast any votes.

Leave it to the celebrity driven culture we live in to put an empty can of dog food on Ebay and get bids over one million dollars. The dog food is said to have been eaten by Paris Hilton’s dog and was retrieved out of her trash by a group who digs in the trash cans of celebrities and sells what they find on Ebay. The bid price for the can is up over $1.5 million!
See the auction here. If you have an extra million dollars laying around, you might be the high bidder.
