Cindy, the 8 ear old cavalier King Charles spaniel, can do unusual tricks…like balancing things on her 4 paws while lying on her back, & balancing a plate on her head while holding a golf ball on a spoon in her mouth. Cindy is the pride of her West Midlands neighborhood in the UK.
When Charles McCowan parked his truck in front of a convenience store leaving his Boxer named Max in the passenger seat, he didn’t think twice. When he came out of the store, his truck and Max were gone. He called the cops who found his truck across the street in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.
Neither he nor the cops had any idea how the truck got there. But a security camera revealed that the truck had actually rolled into the parking lot across the street, missing traffic along the way.
It seems that Max had knocked the truck into neutral and took that little joy ride. Happily, neither the truck nor Max suffered a single scratch. Do you think Max was going for a hamburger?
Pongo, the 9 year old basset hound mix had been lost for 3 weeks - since a tornado whipped through Gassville, AR on Feb. 5th.
His owners came home every few days to see if Pongo had made it back and put out food. The family also made posters with a picture of Pongo and checked animal shelters. They weren’t living in their home due to the damages.
On Friday, while the owners were checking for Pongo, he poked his head out of the dog house. He was home.

It seems that the dog training program for the disabled that has been instituted at the Dwight Correctional Center, the state’s largest women’s prison has had positive effects on the inmates selected to train the dogs.
The program has helped put many inmates on a path to lasting rehabilitation. Only two of the 39 women who have trained dogs and completed their sentences returned to prison. That compares with recent data showing nearly half of all women released from the Illinois prison system were back behind bars within three years.
The program is 7 years old and more than 150 dogs have been placed since then.

In Qionghai, Hainan Province, China - a dog, named A Xiong, goes to the newspaper stand every morning for it’s owner. Xiong is seen carrying a bag in its mouth with a one yuan note inside as it trots about 300 m to a newspaper kiosk. The dog is given a newspaper and returns home to place it by the bedside of its mistress, Hua. Hua said her dog also helps to take off her shoes and does other chores at home. Hua has raised the dog for two years, and has refused an offer of 1,000 yuan for it. Obviously, Xiong is priceless. 
Radar, a mixed breed mutt was neutered by veterinarian Dr. Steve Walstad. You’d assume the dog would be terrified of the vet after that. But no! Radar jumped his owners fence 3 days after the surgery & waited outside the veterinary clinic for someone to let him in. When the door was opened, Radar went to the back & got into a cage like it was his home. So now it is. Radars owner was looking for a new home for him anyway, so the vet is going to keep him.

It’s a mystery. Rusty the dog apparently jumped the fence 6 months ago from his home in Australia. But he showed up 1200 km (or about 621 miles) away from his home 6 months later. He wasn’t in the greatest shape when he was found and no one knows how he got there (Rusty’s not talking).

Lady, an ill-mannered Brittany spaniel girl (through no fault of her own) was set to be put down. But a well meaning couple stepped in and saved her. And today, Lady is a certified therapy dog.
