A dog that was stolen from a vets office 7 years ago was finally reunited with its owner via the microchip embedded in the dog.
Since it took 7 years to read the chip, my guess is that the dog got lost again or ran away from the people who stole it. And when it got picked up, they read the owners contact info on the chip. Of course no one knows - the dog’s not talking, but it’s happy to be back home.
