Responsible Dog Ownership Now A Law in California

Finally, responsible dog ownership has become a law all over the state of California (not just in selected cities). Senate Bill 250 (also known as the Pet Responsibility Act) has been approved by the California state Senate on a 21-16 vote. And it requires that adult pets (cats & dogs) be spayed or neutered. If you want to keep your dog or outdoor cat “au naturel,” you must obtain a permit.

Ironically the bill got it’s number because the state spends $250 million a year to house & eventually euthanize unwanted pets.
